So, the last thread got closed because it was a "piss fest." Let's try to not let that happen here. This is a place for Current Events, so let's not get this thread closed for no good reason!

Woman Beat in Police Station

This example of a douche bag cop, is far from implying we live in a police state. No doubt he is a douche bag, but I doubt that this in anyway says that America is becoming a police state. Check the definition of "police state".

I hope there are no rules against posting Rep. messages; I don't think there are.

But, I disagree. I think that this does imply that America is headed towards a police state. My reasoning? The fact that the police officer has not been held accountable for his actions. The officer is being handled outside of what would encompass "normal" repercussions for everyday citizens.

What do you guys think?

dude i live in LA and this is an exalant example of the corruption oyu have to put up with here.

this cop has losthis job. but what i find appalling is the fact that he is yet to face any cimanal charges. internal affairs is doing an "investigation". if i were this lady or her husband iw ould sue the city, parish (we have parishes, not counties in LA, for those who dont know) and the state.

interesting fact: i live in livingston parish, this is the only place in the US that has yet to this day surrender to the union. we are technicaly still at war. civil war that is

(yeah he was "held accountable", he got fired remember? What would you call that a slap on the wrist? I would rather keep my job and take the charge if I had the choice?:wtf: He lost his job, I wouldn't say that is not being held accountable. If you do woop someones ass at work, you are held accountable, I have fired someone over a physical fight, guess what, the employee that I fired didn't go to jail either. He just lost his job, as meaningless as that is I guess.:wtf:

No shit, he is a cop? There is a difference between the way things ARE and the way you WISHED they were.

The o'so'scary photo could easily be from her falling and breaking her nose, have you ever broken yours or broken someone else's nose? 2 severe bulging puffy black eyes is not uncommon. In addition the cop obviously had to use force, SHE WAS COMBATIVE AND UNCOOPERATIVE YOU CAN SEE THAT IN THE VIDEO!!:wtf: Since none of us were there, we don't know, but yeah I guess I will take the word of a drunk that was driving around, got involved in an accident, then left the scene, DRUNK, then resisted the police, and was uncooperative and refused a breathalizer. Nothing is stopping her from filing charges, and I suspect she hasn't because the cop didn't actually pound her face in, and I will take a cops word everyday over the word of a worthless white trash drunk that was driving around endangering the lives of everyone else that might have been out that evening.

What I think, is that this in no way shape or form supports the statement that we live in a police state, which is 1 of 2 reasons for posting this. There ARE ACTUAL police states, so if you want to make the ridiculous argument that we live in one then just start a thread in the conspiracy area or something, Compare and contrast America with real police states.:thumbsup: Supporting that premise with a video of a drunk being drunk and getting fucked up just for the shock and emotional reaction is worthless. All it says is that you need to make people have a viscerol gut reaction to a shocking image that you are going to equivicate with your "we live in a police state" claim. You are entitled to your opinion, but so is everyone that doesn't agree with you.

Of course the second reason is so that pot heads can talk shit on cops on an internet forum and feel like "REAL TOUGH GUYS". PUKE

Had no idea that the federal government was controlling the local law enforcement of that town! Wow! I guess we really must live in a "police state" since the federal government is running every local law enforcemtn organization secretly! Well almost secretly, obviously someone knows about it.

she is filing a civil suit against the officer

drunk and fell down and broke her nose seems like a plausible excuse. BUT the officer turned OFF video quipment and then when he turns it back on there is pool of blood and her lookin beat all to hell. if it was as simple as her falling down why did it hapen just as he turns off the video.

i personaly think this runs a little deepe than her falling down or even a cop beatin her up like for instance there may have been somethin personal.

but still had this happened in the back room of my house i would be facing criminal charges not them doin an investigation.
