i quit 'playing' them about five years ago and now i only play the ones i can sell gold on for real $, its the only way i can justify the timesink.

world of warcraft is designed to take up as much fcking time as possible. its trash.

seriously, as a former opiate addict who had a 50-80mg/day habit at one time i can tell you they (MMOs) are worse than drugs, especially if you have an addictive personality.
i was able to quit doing real, hard drugs easier than i could quit videogaming and actually did worse in school when i was on WoW than when i was a real junkie.

and my story really aint all that uncommon.

there really is no such thing as 'casually' playing a MMO, at least not for me

i sell gold on a lot of shards including my home shards Mannoroth (alliance) and Twisting Nether (horde) PM me if you WTB

Agreed. I'm a former Lineage II player of 5 years, and it's all the same thing. It's just not worth it. It eats up your life. Good thing I played on a private server so quitting was easier for me once my server was shut down.

I strongly advise against starting playing MMOs. If you are already playing, then keep this is mind:
The highest levels on a server are usually losers who have no real life, and you do not want to be like them. If you'd meet them IRL first, you'd probably hate them.

And if you want to quit, just dick off as much as you possibly can first. It is fun with a high lvl.

    The world of WoW!?!?!

mmos are all kinds of fun and awesomeness, but once you play them and do very well or get to the endgame it destroys your will to play any single-player games besides maybe TF2 or counter-strike sort of deals.

why play a single player rpg for 60 hours when you can put 60 hours into WoW and do the same sort of thing with tons of other people and 'show off' all your phats?

ive worked in the MMO biz for a number of years and im the first to admit that the games are made to sucker in people who have very little going for them. theyre designed at their core as a replacement for real life. i have a wild love-hate relationship with them. if you are the type of guy who can't stop after two lines of coke (and thats almost everyone who likes drugs), you are the type of guy who should stay from mmorpgs. they are a solid parallel to gambling for a lot of people...

they will do you in quick.

my brother was on a 'paid to game' arena team with a very high pvp rating that actually got sponsored by nvidia and other companies to compete professionally. he was amazing but its literally all he did all summer. he never left his room. kid doesn't even drive.

not worth it, trust me... unless you're going to make it a job like he did and even then - not really worth it.

I agree totally. Although I was one of those addicts and played hardcore. Made my money back anyways by selling my account online.
