from the time the first hairs appeared, the plant begun its flowering cycle, which will take anywhere from 7-12 weeks, depending on the strain.
yours looks at the second week approximately, and has much more to go. each bud will roughly 3-4X its size, begin to smell nice, and take at least another month, if not 2, no fully ripen.
also, make sure your using either warm cfls, or an hps lamp, and on a 12/12 light cycle. also use bloom fertilizers (tomato ferts are the closest alternative at walmart, but are much less than ideal.)

I think there is a POSTIT in harvesting, Just remember that a good harvest takes time depending on the size of your plants, don't rush it cause it will make the final product smoother!

harvest is pretty straightfoward and consists of roughly 3 steps:
1) stop feeding. in the last 2 weeks (1 week in organics) of flowering, you want to give it only water, as this will flush remanant fertilizers out of your plant.
2) chop and hang. this is really obvious. cut it at the base and just and the entire plant upside down by a string or similar.
3) level 1 trim. after 1-3 days hanging, go in with some scissors and snip off all fanleaves and other large leaves with no visible trichomes. (save for bubblebags)
after this, you wait another 2-4 days until its stems become brittle, and you can fully trim the buds and then store/cure however you desire.

in about six weeks try taking a magnifying glass and stick it in front of your digital camera. this will allow you to pretty easily take photos of the trichomes for examination. it depends on how you like your experience, but the general rules of thumb are:
clear trichomes: cerebral feeling
cloudy/milky: mix of cerebral and body feeling
amber: couch lock incapacitation/munchies kind of feelings
theres a pretty good chart somewhere on this site about it. all you have to do is pick your favorite feeling and wait for the trichomes to turn that color and theyll be ready.
