Plugging a humidifier into it's own independent timer might be a good idea. Should be pretty easy to regulate the RH that way. Try not to let the mist fall directly on anything electronic, and definitely make sure it doesn't saturate the light.

50% humidity is fine. I like to keep it in the 40s during flowering to prevent mold, but that's just me. There's a lot of helpful tips in the FAQs section, but it sounds like you're on the right track so far.
