Fullerton votes to ban medical marijuana dispensaries
It is actually the right thing to do, current state laws leave cities and everyone in them vulnerable to lawsuits out the ass if they just go along with and allow dispenseries to operate even legally! The folks in the local government need to be honest with everyone and explain why they can't allow that to happen, it's not their fault that the current legislation is terrible. They can't put every tax paying citizen of that city into a situation where they may end up paying some insane amount of money for the intrests of a very small few in that community, it's not responsible, and it is not the right thing to do. Sorry, I know no one wants to hear that, the truth that is.

It sucks, and no one wants to see or hear this happening, but at the same time is it fair to everyone in that city that would have to pay for all of the associated costs that are involved? I don't think it is, that is where we are at today with MMJ folks. Now in hindsight, it's clear to see that the current legaslation in California is NOT A GOOD THING FOR MMJ. The only "right way" to do anything on the state level, is to completely decriminalize period. If you are upset about what Fullerton has done, then just wait, you haven't seen anything yet!
If the state of California could decriminalize and establish a free for profit market, then prohibition would end federally within 8 years, garauntee it. California has one of the largest economies in the world, and complete decriminalization would do the opposite that MMJ laws have. Instead of concentrating all resources and profits involved, which is what is happening now, it would blow up like a bomb and be everywhere. California would be the first in the door, and be able to reap huge huge revenues as a state, all local governments, and for individuals involved, it would also mainstream the business of marijuana and provide a vast amount of new opportunity for anyone that would choose it.
The federal government would continue to fight, but it would be meaningless because it would be so prevalent. They would move into other states that are doing what California did 10 years ago. I don't know what kind of challenges the federal government would make, possibly cutting of federal funding for a variety of projects, but that may not be so bad for the nation as a whole. :thumbsup:That is why it likely will not happen though, the feds don't care about the current laws, because they make it easy for them to sit and wait for individuals to concentrate resources, and then they pounce, easily destroying anything they choose to up to and including the lives of Americans that are involved, then they go away, sit back and wait to do it again, they can keep this up untill the end of time if they want and that is exactly what they intend to do. Every time they demoralize people involved, and make it harder for those involved to pick up and continue to move forward.
That would not work if it was completely decriminalized, they could do it, but they would only be able to hold about one half of one percent of the people involved accountable and they would move on to much "lower hanging fruit".
