    roots ripped off, any hope?

hi i was just transplanting my plants to a 3 gallon bucket and during the transfer i carelessly and accidentally ripped off about the bottom 15-20% of the roots...the plant was being moved out of where it was seeded so the plant itself is only about 9 inches tall

basically, i decided to just transplant as normal and see what happend...its been about 10 hours and the plant is just slumping over alot and doesnt look very healthy

my question is did i do too much damage to my plant and is it done for or should i wait it out and hopefully the odds are in my favor it will recover?

id prefer to wait it out since im on a schedule and need to start flowering by a certain date but if the plant is done for i suppose i can just germ a new seed and i suppose it will flower at whatever height it is at when the flowering date comes

since this isnt really a full out troubleshooting problem i dont think any more info is needed about my grow but anything u guys need to know, just ask

well heres what happened to me.
i had set my plants outside to get some sun.
i have a new puppy, he had peed on the floor so i sent him outside
and yes your right he ate the leaves off of two plants and uprooted two plants out of the pots. needless to say me and the pup had alil talk about it. i replanted the pulled ones and trimmed the others that had half eaten. they were drooping really bad but
came back the next day and walla they were all standing up like nothing ever happened. so give them some time to come back they are weeds and are very hard to kill.how this will affect flowering i dont know we will see i marked the cups so i would know who is who.

I've ripped some roots before during a transplant. Although not 15-20%. Whenever I do my transplants I water with some superthrive the day before and then I line the new soil with rooting hormone powder the next day. I feel this really helps the roots take and helps them recover from any tearing that may have occurred.

That may all be in my head but 1 drop of superthrive and a little bit of rooting hormone maybe costs .25 cents if you measured the cost by weight of the product.

I suggest you give that a try. Really that's the only thing I can input on this.

Though honestly I think it may be too much shock for your plant to recover from.

Give it 1-3 days before you consider this one a goner. You'd be surprised what these plants can come back from if you tend to them properly after a tragedy like that.

    Good luck.

Just keep it going, she should survive. Feed her less frequently, and with lower-strength nutrients at first. Roots can be pruned intentionally to cut back on mass and slow growth, that's all you did.

Did it look something like this?
