Good Cheap CFLs and Electrical Equip.- tell me what you think

Check out this website. I found some really nice CFLs on there (and they have other bulbs). I thought this would be useful for beginning growers looking for a good cheap light setup. For a good beginning grow that will be coming next summer i'm thinking about this setup:
    3- TCP SpringLamp 42 Watt 2700K Compact Fluorescent Lamp pr.# 28942 = $40 (flower)
    3- 27 Watt 6500K (Daylight) SpringLamp Compact Fluorescent Lamp, 10,000 Hr. = $21 (Veg)
2- TCP Fresh 2TI Odor Eliminating 27 Watt 120 Volt 10,000 Hour 2700K = $20 (probably run one during veg to help with smell and 2 during flower)
Thats only like $80 for some good cfl lighting.
Tell me what you guys think. You think that would be good for a couple plants in a small space?
    :hippy:

    A VERY small space.
with cfl's you should try to have more than 70 watts per square foot.
Also, Mal-Wart has the bulbs cheaper.

I checked walmart.com and they don't show but one type of 42W bulb and it doesn't specify its spectrum. They don't have the odor eliminating ones either... do they have a wider variety in the store?

You've got 261 watts...that's around 18,000 lumens. psteve is right about 70w of CFLs...CFLs generate almost exactly 70 lumens per sq ft., and you want 5000 for an optimal grow. You've got about 3.6 sq. ft....enough for 3 decent sized indoor plants. Something like a 36" x 14" area.

About the lights/prices...yeah, Wal-Mart is going to be cheaper. The cheapest set-up you can get is to get a bathroom bar fixture like this one:

    5 Light Chrome Bath Bar

and then buy 5 Y-sockets, and 10 bulbs. You'll get 230-260 watts of light (essentially the same as what you describe) for a lot less.

    Bathroom fixture: $14.88 (Lowe's)
Extension cord (to strip and connext to bar fixture): $1.50 (Wal-Mart)
    5 Y-Sockets: $7.50 (Wal-Mart)
    5 2-packs of 26w GE Daylight CFL: $34 (Wal-Mart)
    3 4 packs of 23w Warm White CFLs: $24 (Wal-Mart)

That's $82 total and it has your ballast and it has separate bulbs for veg and flower.

The ones I use from MalWart are 26 watt, and are marked as daylight spectrum.
They are about $7.50 for two bulbs.

I would recommend going to Menards if you have one... You can buy 200w CFL's for about 8$ two or three of those would be better than multiple 26w's. Unless of course you have enough light fixtures to actually spread the light out.

I grew out with around 250W of CFL's( like 6 bulbs total) and had a pretty decent turn out. GL
