I remember seeing a thread about this once before. I think it was pretty much deteremined that it would stress the plant to the point of it being a hermie, having very weak buds, or dying all together.

I think there were a number of other issues. There were some very knowledgable people in this thread. I wish I could find it again.

It never hurts to try it on one plant if you have the seeds/clones to spare.

I say go for it and start making a log out of it. At least we'll have a definitive answer at that point regardless of the outcome.
daihashi Reviewed by daihashi on . Grafting and all its wonders So I was chillin with my grandpa yesterday in his garden and saw something odd. He has a citrus tree. Half of it grows oranges and half of it grows grapefruit. He uses a technique called grafting where he chops half the tree off then take branches from a grapefruit tree. He then scrapes away the outer bark on each the branch and the spot on the trunk where he wishes to place it, leaving the green underbark (forgot what he called it) and tapes the branches in place.
