want to start a grow indoors.
is there much difference between hydro and soil?

Hydroponics and soil growing are two different means to the same end. There is no difference in the end product, yield, or anything else as long as each is grown well.

Regardless of which method you choose, you'll need the basics:- Quality genetics. (good bagseed is great to learn with)
- Proper lights for veg and flower.
- Proper ventilation.
- Proper nutrients.
- A ph pen.
- Ability to keep a secret.
- Willingness to read and learn.
- Patience. Lots of patience.
