    Michael savage Rants against Islam

I don't believe Islam is the problem. The problem is when religion gets too heavily involved in life. Once a state indoctrinates a religion into law, it affects the psychology of citizens of entire nations. Religion isn't the problem, there's nothing with a belief system, a set of principles to guide you through life. There's nothing wrong with trying to understand the spiritualness of being human and coping in this world. When Islam the message becomes twisted and imposed it creates psychological barbarism within many of them. Don't confuse the American Islam, with ones from the Middle East, and to an extent Europe. The ones in America for the most part has evolved. In many parts of the world it hasn't, which is unfortunate and has all the shit.

Are you saying that because you personally think life is too complex or "lucky" that there must be a higher being?

I find that to be very silly. As there is always the question of where did this higher being come from? Generally when people make that argument they are making it for their god. Then most people have no problem not knowing where their god came from yet not knowing why we are here or how we came to be is such a big issue that there HAS to be an explanation. So when Science can't, at the moment, provide that they turn to religion or the supernatural to explain it. Which of course is where the god of the ever decreasing gaps comes in.

Also it'd be nice if you elaborated on your last sentence I quoted. As it appears you move to make a point yet don't quite reach it.

No, all religions don't preach hate and war. Take Buddhism, for instance... founded upon a solid foundation of peaching love and peace. The Four Noble Truth's, the Eightfold Path, the Five Moral Precepts, Refuge in Three Jewels, the Marks of the Conditioned, etc., ALL teach a person how to make the best of suffering, and how succeed in this life and all subsequent afterlives.

All religions have followers that try to justify hate and war by misinterpreting their holy scriptures. Most religions were founded on peace, understanding of suffering and pain, and differing ways to view the world around us. But any nutjob can misinterpret what was intended to be peaceful words, and use them to attack others. It just so happens that the literal words of the koran are easier to misinterpret than some other religious philosophies. Read it for yourself, that's what I did. I never questioned the religion until I took the time to actually read what Islam promotes. And in many cases, it appears as spitefulness towards non-muslims and a tendency to be distrustful of others who don't share in their ideology. I think Savage is justified in many of the things he says about the religion... he just happens to be extra vocal about his opinions because it helps his ratings.

...and, by the way, your avatar is cool!
