    What About This Supply List?

I was trying to put a supply list together for everything needed for a good grow. This is not for a big grow only for starting out with 1-2 plants and flowering one. Tell me what you think. I thought these prices were good.

    High Tech Garden Supply
    Suncourt 6" Inline Duct Fan $40 x 2 = $80
    HTGSupply 250 watt High Pressure Sodium Grow Light $117.95 + Easy Cool 6 Reflector ($81) = $199
    PH TEST STRIPS - $7
    MYLAR - $15

SH Hydroponics > Bucketeer DWC Kit
    Bucketeer DWC Kit $50
    FoxFarm Liquid Soil Combo $40

Also i found this carbon filter: CAN 33 Carbon Filter $110
But i'll proally make my own because that seems a little expensive.

I'd like to know how efficient and cost effective you think that setup is. PEACE :hippy::hippy:

all your equip looks pretty good. although i would recommend a digital ph meter as they are way more precise. and if you foliar feed and use mylar it looses its reflectivity very quickly and needs to be cleaned alot

on the hydro kit you can make yourself with a good drill and some good silicone and afew parts for about 25-35 depending on pump price, and alittle know how. theres alot of info here on diys if you feel comfortable
if you want a hydro setup i would recommend using a hydro fert

if i do dwc will the mylar be a problem? yea, i know you could make one of those buckets pretty easily but that setup comes with the:
Air Pump w/ 4 inch Bubble Disk & Tubing
Ten Inch "Bucket Buddy" Net Pot
    Pro Drainage Kit
    Two Rockwool Cubes
    Hydroton Grow Rocks
Instructional Manual & Grow Guide CD-ROM

I thought it was a pretty good deal for all that... Ill check out all the DIYs. :hippy:

yep, its very easy to just build your own DWC for a fraction of the cost, plus you'll understand exactly how it works, and a 5 year old could do it just as effeciently

for air pumps, air tubing and air discs/stones you can get that at Petsmart or petco for a pretty decent prize. buckets you can of course get at a hardware store

hydroton (clay pebbles) can be purchased online from hydro stores too, its pretty cheap considering its totally reusable

net pots can be bought online, i got ones that fit and snap perfectly on the top of standard 5 gallon buckets.

Also, if you are going to test your pH non digitally, you should get the liquid pH test, general hydroponic makes some, most hydroponic shops online have it, its only 5 bucks and should last you through the grow, you drop some drops in a vial you fill, and it changes color... 5.0 pH = orange, 5.5 = orangish yellow, 6.0 = yellow, 6.5 = greenish-yellow etc... just compare to the chart. very cheap, reliable, and you dont have to worry about the electronics needing calibration or suddenly glitching out, and IMHO its just as precise as a digital meter once you get used to it, and assuming you aren't color blind. You can tell the difference eventually between 6.0 and 6.2, 5.6 and 5.8, etc...
