will white spray paint reflect light

i painted my transparent tub with a brush and white paint, but it peeled off so i went and got some white spray paint for plastic. will it reflect light? it kind of seems like light goes through it. would brush paint stick to spray paint better than plastic?

Flat paint is best since it can't create hot spots. Super bright flat white paint is best, but your spray should work ok too.
Spray the outside black to block the light more.
