Breeders, can you tell anything from your seeds?

Has anyone here cross pollnated (hybridized) cannabis and noted any ability to judge from the seeds if the hybridized plant would have predominate traits of one or both parents? I've been careful with labeling seeds to plants for just a couple of grows but this is the first time I've thought about "judging seeds" I'll post again with some seed pics.

Some seeds look and are better than others, that's why it's good to plant several and choose the best ones once they start growing. Basically though, I think it's a crap shoot.

    Definatelly a crap shoot.
Sometimes the mature seeds are all the same size, sometimes not. Sometimes they have 'racing stripes', sometimes they're a solid tanish-brown. Sometimes big, sometimes tiny. Sometimes rock-hard, sometimes not. Depends on the genes the seeds have gotten from the parents, and their parents, and their parents...

But as far as telling if a seed will provide plants with more trichomes, a shorter stretch, or produce bigger bud...no. It doesn't work that way. Shit...I'd love to just be able to tell if the seed is male or female, let alone how she will perform.

That would be cool tho, if the seeds were marked like fancy chocolates...A double-swirl for grape flavor, two parallel lines for pithy stems and mega-trichomes, four dots and a swirl for lemon flavor and hollow stems, a circle with a slash thru it for genetic hermies...Would sure come in handy.

Has anyone noticed that nice full Indica seeds are much larger and fatter compared to the tiny seeds in mexibrick sativas?
