hey mike, i've been following along and psteve has been feeding you good info so i've just been reading.

he hasn't responded to this message so i thought i'd throw my 2 cents in.

mj needs both red and blue light throughout its life cycle, just in different proportions depending on which stage of life it is in.
during the vegetative growth stage you want to use mostly blue or cool light as that will help keep the plant from stretching.
during flowering you want mostly red light to promote bud growth

so, to sum up, during veg you want to use about a 4 to 1 ratio, watt for watt, blue to red
during flowering you want to use about a 3 to 1 ratio, watt for watt, red to blue
