Are you using them in veg or in bloom?
The short answer is yes, they will work. Use about two of them for every square foot of foliage.
    Here's more about lighting.

Ebays got lots of good ones in red and blue spec, some are cheaper than others. the 250 watt one i got was £80 with next day delivery and came with reflector and easy rolls, but didnt say the lumen rating best bet to look for one that tells u that

i would definitely buy the big 200 -250 watt bulbs but i am worried the bulbs wont work with my cheap little outlet things, they are the kind that plug into the outlets do you know if they would work in these cheap little sockets?

Here in the US I notice most packages I see don't list the kelvin rating.

With that said Daylight bulbs tend to be good for flowering and Bright white are good for Vegging.

Look in this thread. This plant was grown under CFLs.

thanks. It's my first grow. I'm very happy with the results. I'm even happier that it seems to be female and all my time/love wasn't wasted on it.

    lol.

good luck on your grow.
