Ethylene, and over-ripening
Hello stinky, are you experienced in the field of using "ethephon" or "ethylene" as a foliar spray? Will this actually increase chances of the plant being female? and also
I know you have no experience with autoflowering strains but would you know if it s it possible to let a lowryder over mature to herm, and would this be possible to do to a plant from a "femenized" seed from a reputable dealer? Also if you let it overmature to herm would it be possible to self pollinate the plant, or would it be too old?
More than appreciated,

Ethylene aids in fruit ripening in fruits such as tomatoes. I'd have to do some reading about its effects on cannabis. As with most treatments of this nature, you'd have to already have conditions pretty close to perfect to see a difference. I believe it influences M/F expression too, but how I don't know, and in what direction and to what extent I don't know either.
Yup, you can over-mature lowryder just fine. You could still self-pollinate but then you have another several weeks to wait and I really don't recommend it; instead, start 3-4 seeds a month after your first batch and over-ripen a female from the first batch to pollinate a female from the second.
I'm not a huge fan of ordering feminized seeds. But yes, this technique will work on femmed-seed plants as well.
I also don't know what or how much effect the traditional photoperiod stress would have on an auto strain for making feminized beaners.

that's some good thinking, ethylene might have some promising effects on cannabis
btw, why aren't you a big fan of feminized seeds??I cannot guarantee that I am who I say I am, nor can I guarantee that I have any rights to the media that I share online. I am unlike anything that I portray myself to be, nor am I who you think I am. You think I am, therefore I\'m not...

Feminised seeds are known to have bad genetics i.e. hermies. I myself found no problems with feminised seeds from paradise seeds.

i don't know about growth hormone but i know it's a hormone plants use to ripen
they do it at grocery markets where even the most unripe fruits get their pink from ethylene :wtf:I cannot guarantee that I am who I say I am, nor can I guarantee that I have any rights to the media that I share online.
