HPS Bulb and regular lamp.....no?
No, HID bulbs require a ballast with the components needed to ignite gases inside the arc tube... whereas an incandescent bulb uses electricity to make the filament inside glow "white-hot". Even the 50W HPS bulbs require a ballast, because they still work on the same principle.
