Anyone else dig Baroness?
I heard of this band earlier this year but didnt really get a chance to give them a good listen until recently. I bought The Red Album the other day and I'm really digging it. They've got pretty great dynamics for a metal band, combining post-rock elements (in vein of Mogwai,Explosions In The Sky). With in your face sludge/thrash elements (a la Mastodon and High on Fire) with a tinge of prog-metal (Isis, Pelican). It's an interesting dynamic combination that they pull off, and the result is a pretty kickass.
I'm not sure what I could say are stand out tracks, as the whole album is pretty damn solid. Maybe "Rays On Pinion", "The Birthing", and "Wanderlust" I give it a definate  Anyone else dig these guys?ghosty Reviewed by ghosty on . Anyone else dig Baroness?
