Yes, the seeds would definitely germinate in thier bird bellies. Birds eat all kinds of seeds all the time, and that is why you see so many birds with plants sprouting out of them --- all those seeds germinate in their bellies! Stupid birds! You'd think they would learn!

Ha ha! Yeah, it was sarcasm. Sorry about that.

But what did you mean? The seeds would sprout inside the bird? SQUAWK! That's what it sounded like you were talking about, but it didn't seem likely that you really thought that.

Usually I think if a bird is eating a seed, it cracks the seed before it swallows it and then digests it --- no chance to ever germinate or sprout. Some birds eat fruits, like certain kinds of berries, and the seeds are evolved to just pass throught the bird's digestive tract intact and exit the poop chute in a bird turd. Then the seed germinates and sprouts wherever the turd lands. Some kinds of seeds NEED to pass through a bird in order to sporut. But in this case the bird is eating the FRUIT, not really eting the SEED --- the seed is just along for the ride. For the pot seed you were talking about, the bird would crack it and digest it.

And then there are some children who like to stick beans in their ears, and after a few days in the warmth and moisture, the bean sprouts, and the kid has to go to the doctor to have the bean sprout surgically removed from his noggin. But that's a totally different thing altogether...

The seeds will germinate, but they are sub standard feed seed and often dwarf, or grow shotty. keep an eye on them if you have deer or other varmints because they will eat the flower heads before you typically harvest seed.

    Dudes,

I want that job. Sitting in front of a conveyor belt with seeds on it. ?? This ones for growing, This ones for eating.? Then I??m sure the eating ones go through more quality control, to separate the seeds fit for people, from the animal seeds. You need a good eye to separate those though. Huh.
