Flushing
I think I may have screwed up my res solution and all so I'm going to flush my hydro rig and plants. How long should I flush for? Also, I assume I need to keep the PH around 5.5? Thanks.

Can you be a little more specific as to what is going on? Really specifically, ppms and ph? type of nutes? what kind of plants, how old.....

Hi Weedhound, I'll even provide pictures. In any event, my ppms are at 470. This is the 11th day of vegging. My ph stays between 5.5 and 6.2. 400MH at least 15 inches from top of canopy. Plants are sugarberry from JW. Just calibrated meter yesterday to make sure all was correct with it (used solutions to calibrate). Temp in the room runs as high as 80 but typically 65 to 75. I am in an arid climate....mostly a very DRY region. Closet grown with fan on it. Oh, and they get 15min drinks every 2 hours
Anything else I can provide for you?
Thanks in advance.

what nutes are you usig and is that a 0.5 conversion? These plants are from clone or seed or? You're sure your ph has remained very stable? What are your water temps?

I'm assuming you are talking about the curled up edges.....have you lowered your light recently? If you want you can simply dilute the total ppm back.....doesn't sound to me like you need to totally flush the system. If that's a 0.5 conversion rate....I'd probably try to lower it about 100 -150ppm and keep a close eye on ph. If they are nuteburned you will usually see the ph rise more quickly and more often.

Your light looks plenty high up to me....not low enough to burn. I'd just drop your number back for a few days and let them catch up.

No, I haven't lowered the lights at all. Do you mean to drop from 470 to 370-320? I seem to have to drop my ph both in the morning and evening (every 12 hours) to 5.5.

Yes if your solution is too strong it will cause your ph to rise more than normal but new hydroton can also have the same effect sometimes.
Also yes....I'd drop your number back to about 350 and once the have stabilized start raising it again.
