Get the fuck over yourselves. We need to dedicate 25% of our farmland to hemp fields to produce fuel and end importation of foreign oil.
We need a president that is a man of science, not some ex-fbi director, or some ex navy seal or some religious extremist or whoever they put up next.
Before I get flamed, I am not an atheist myself. But I often wonder if an atheist president would get us on some environmental protection plan to fight global warming, or be more likely to legalize weed or plant hemp crops for fuel or get rid of the patriot act or bring all our troops from around the world home, or implement a universal health care plan that isn't fascist/communist (Hillary forcing everyone to buy health insurance. Health insurance should be affordable for every American, but not forced upon against one's wishes (democracy??)
What do you guys think of an atheist president? Or if a scientist was running for president. After all, the Constitution states that "there shall be no test of religion required for the presidency"

Atheism is growing in America, but the establishment has no value for it.
I also wish we could have a president that approaches issues with an ethical and philosophical point of view. But even my hopes are running short.

I would love to see religion removed from any kind of politics. Its just too corrupting and people will vote for a candidate just because he says he's a christian.

An atheist might be OK, but not an anti-Christ. I'd have trouble supporting an anti-Christ.

Thanks by the way.
Isn't Nader an atheist?
Anyway, I don't think it matters much what religion someone is. I think the only one that takes their religion too far is Huckabee. Saying we need to amend the constitution to reflect the bible. He was implying that we need an amendment to "protect" gay marriage.
Yeah, the Bible is really fucked up when you really read it. I voted for Ron Paul in spite of him being a Christian.
I really don't care about a candidate's religion. I just look at their stances on the issues, which, I guess religion does ultimately effect. But, voting for someone based on their religion is the same as doing it because of their gender or skin color. People should be judged on the content of their character.

I don't really care what someones religious affiliation is so long as they keep the two separate. However, I would like to see a Buddhist as president.
