yellow leave on bottom (2 week old plant)
im new to growing this particular plant ( had a hand in many other vegatable and flowering plants) so i dont really know the correct terminology...anyways....
the plant is a few inches tall, it has two long narrow spiked edge leaves and two more smaller ones that just started to grow on top, then maybe a half inch below are two regular looking leaves with smooth edges these two leave on the bottom portion seem to be turning yellow on the tips, however the spiked edge leave on top look very green and healthy.
anyone know whats going on?sealice Reviewed by sealice on . yellow leave on bottom (2 week old plant) im new to growing this particular plant ( had a hand in many other vegatable and flowering plants) so i dont really know the correct terminology...anyways.... the plant is a few inches tall, it has two long narrow spiked edge leaves and two more smaller ones that just started to grow on top, then maybe a half inch below are two regular looking leaves with smooth edges these two leave on the bottom portion seem to be turning yellow on the tips, however the spiked edge leave on top look very Rating: 5

It sounds like you're speaking of the cotyledons. They are the first two leaves to show and are the plant's source of energy in the early-seedling stage. This is not a problem now that your plant is two other nodes.
You will also want to think about when to add nutrients. With the cotyledons being depleted, your plant will need nutrients in the next few days to weeks.
Here is a cotyledon.

ok that pretty much answers the question. heres a few pictures for clarification etc..
the bottom leave are just about dead, and the ones just about the bottom most look a little yellow, but not too much. i think this may be from over watering. the top is looking very full and very green. as for the stem im a little worried as it looks kind of weak so i tied it to a small straw for support (dont know if its a good or bad idea)
and here is the setup, in a closet, one incandescent grow light (walgreens) i have plans to upgrade. critique needed.
