Looks like the results put McCain way out in front in the delegate count. He may very well have a lock at this point --- very hard for Romney or Huckabee to catch him.

I think a McCain/Huckabee ticket is reasonably likely, unless McCain pulls his VP from outside the pool of other candidates. Giuliani is the closest in political philosophy to McCain, but often the goal of the VP pick is to balanace the ticket and bring in other voters who may not be that excited about the person at the top of the ticket. Giuliani can't do that for McCain. Huckabee might be able to bring in some of the Evangelical vote that is not excited about McCain.

If you get past the drug war issue, McCain is probably the most moderate of the 3 GOP front runners. I'm not surprised at all that California went for him.

On the Democratic side, it looks like Super Tuesday did not settle anything. Both Obama and Clinton are about evenly matched in delegates with Clinton slightly out in front. This is going to be a long race and it'll come down to just a few delegates difference by the end, I predict.
