dissolved the epsom in warm water and sprayed over whole plant above and under leaves

how often should i do the above?
should i add some epsom salts to the feed?
how can i avoid mag def in the future? (tap water = high calcium = mag lock out)

Don't add any in the feed since you may already have other soil problems.
You can spray that mixture a couple times a week.
Now you need to put the plant in a larger pot with fresh soil and not water so heavily.

Dish soap = liquid soap (used for washing dishes in the sink). I would guess that "washing up liquid" is the same as "dish soap"

Looking good; I don't see the nodes alternating yet though. You can give them some more time before flowering and it will be better- they will be sexually mature then.
