I want to bring in fresh air from outside through a window for ventalation.What size fan would be required for a room the size 10 x 12 x 8.8 being the height of the room. Our would I be better off, installing a window unit/ AC in the room????

With or without a carbon filter? With a carbon filter I think 8" with a 100 lb or so carbon filter.

I believe the general guideline is that you want to replace your room's volume completely, once every five minutes. So, your room at 10x12x9 = 1080 cubic feet, divided by 5 for the rating per minute, gives you about 220 CFM. So, for a fan running 100% of the time, with little resistance (like a carbon filter), you want to look at the 250 CFM fans. If you have to bend your ducting a lot, or are running a carbon filter, be sure to up the CFM rating to compensate.
