MM Patients Can Now Be Fired For Using Medical Marijuana Even with Doctor Approval
People that use medical marijuana are entitled to the same rights as people using any other medicine. No special rights. They are not in a special group. People that use medical marijuana should be treated just like people that use Vicodin, Aspirin, or Xanax.
Pill painkillers should not be taken before work, depending on the job, and neither should marijuana, still, depending on the job.
Drug tests are an invasion of privacy.

8182KSKUSH - What I find so interesting about your posts is how you are so quick to criticize somebody standing up for freedom in America, as if we should never demand such a crazy thing from our government
The whole war on drugs is a war on personal freedom, government doesn't give you freedom, freedom is a natural instinct and the constitution respects this. However, so many people now ignore the constitution that they forget we don't get our freedom from the government, but that we get freedom naturally and our government has no authority to take away our freedom. That is what the constitution is, our defense of freedom and the war on drugs is a war on our freedom.
If you don't understand how the war on drugs is a direct cause to the problems associated with medical marijuana, then you will never be able to change things for the better. The reason there are problems is because nobody is standing up for personal freedom, and we think we need a law telling us what drugs are legal and what are not. The reality is that all drugs are legal in a truly free society, and it is up to our own free will to decide for ourselves what we should or should not consume.
The government has no place in making personal decisions in people's lives, that is not what a government that preaches freedom does, but this country preaches freedom at the same time they take it away, and people like you don't even think it's worth pointing out the hypocrisy, rather, you support this corrupt government dictatorship with the false flag of freedom draped over the cover.
I firmly reject any such ideas as any true patriot should. Live free or die baby I swear I'm going to steal that state motto from New Hampshire and make it California's. Too many damn socialists in this state, need some true patriots to fight back!

Your personal liberties and freedoms cannot infringe on the rights of others, that is in the constitution.
Fact is, we don't live in a "truely free society", fact is no one on earth does. America is far from perfect. Full of contradictions, I am a great example. I believe in my heart more than anything on this earth that marijuana should be free and legal for anyone that wants to use it for any reason. I am sure that is a shared belief by many here. Wouldn't that be perfect! Fact is, we live in this world right here right now. We have to work within the confines of our actual world! No matter what we think. And while I think that marijuana should be free and legal for everyone, I do not think that cocaine, heroin, or any other drugs as currently defined by our society should be. Yeah idealy that would be great, and I agree that people should have the right to be as stupid as they want, and if they want to smoke crack everyday then let them. I would love that. But that will never be reality. We have to accept what we are facing now and find a way to work with it. I have a deep fundamental promblem with anyone that is going to infringe on someone else's rights and not bat an eye. Whether we like it or not we live in the "gray". Our society has already established the things that it does and does not accept, and to simply say that society or the government if you will is taking away something that I feel is a right, so I am going to do the exact same thing to someone else? That is not the right thing. No the employers can determine any standards they want, luckily we are free to choose which employers we want to work for, or if we want to BE the employer. No one is "entitled" to a job. You can have a job if I want to give you a job, and if the government is going to tell me different, then I believe we have a serious promblem with losing liberty.

of course it's illegal period by federal law, even if state's have enacted legislation granting specific exclusion for those individuals who have consulted a physician and came to the conclusion that marijuana is the best medication for them...This is America...Federalism? ha...that doesn't exist in america any more.
Point being, these people are obviously making their lives better, and as I've mentioned, likely using it to enable themselves to be more productive..they aren't treated like everyone else when it comes to the enforcement of marijuana laws, and they most certainly shouldn't be treated as are your regular every day citizens when it comes to their use, and marijuana testing by their employers.
Let's put it in this sense, people who fail for opiates in their systems can show their prescription from a doctor, and no biggie, it's okay because your doctor says so. Why the fuck should marijuana be treated any differently in states where it's approved for medical use? People can INGEST pain pills at work as long as they have a prescription. I can understand how they wouldn't want someone to light up there at work, but they shouldn't be punished for using their medication by being terminated or discriminated, just because it's marijuana and 'against federal law period.' State law says it's a valid medication, the employers within those states should have to honor such laws.
And for the record man, in a country where it's 'safe' to smoke tobacco and get the higher mortality rate, emphysema and all sorts of cancers, and drink alcohol until I have a disease called alcoholism, but I can't smoke marijuana because it's too dangerous?? Something that wont kill me...I'm sorry, but we already have lost our liberty bro...I think it's yet another loss of liberty for the individual improving their quality of life with marijuana, by depriving them of a job simply because of how they have to consume their medication...Marijuana IS medicine, I don't care what the fuck the feds say, if I live in a medical state, I should damn well be able to work just as anyone else with a valid prescription medication of opiates.

If I had a prescription I'd damn sure want to have it honored as medication by my employer if I was screened for marijuana at work.
People who have a valid recommendation for medical marijuana in the 12 states should be treated in the same regards to drug testing as are those who fail for opiates. It's obvious that in the medical marijuana sense the states are more respectful of the will of the people, and the federal government's stance on marijuana shouldn't affect the thinking towards it in those states.

You are wrong though. People choose to use medical marijuana knowing that it is against federal law. When they do that they choose all the consequences period. Whether you agree or not, it doesn't matter, that's reality.

Employers do have the right to discriminate who they hire and who works for them. They can't discriminate for "certian" reasons, but MMJ hardly qualifies as a civil liberty. Choosing to use it is not the same as your race, religion, sex preference, gender, ect...
That is why employers can discriminate. I use MMJ, don't get me wrong. But it is a plant. Current federal laws just make a bigger issue than it should be. But employers can and do discriminate and should have the right to.
IT'S THEIR GOD DAMN BUSINESS!
