1,000,000 Iraqis dead since the invasion of 2003
you know i been a liberal tree hugin hippie my entire life. i hate violence and i wish for nothing but peace. but i do understand the fact that we just can not up and leave the middle east. we stirred up the shit and now we have to get it settled back down.
say you and your 3 best freinds were standing around a bucket of shit. you pick up a huge rock and thro it in. shit splashes out out and all over you and your freinds. just up and leaving the middle east now would have the same effect as removing the rock. it may be out but you and your freinds are still covered in shit. the shituation isnt resolved till you get the crap cleaned off.

Oh, dear. Perhaps Hillary's appraisal of the US forces was somewhat premature.
And here's another one.

The number of roadside bombs found in Iraq declined dramatically in August and September from earlier this year, and U.S. officials say the discoveries of thousands of ammunition caches might explain the drop.
On Monday, the U.S. command in Baghdad also said rocket and mortar attacks have dropped to their lowest levels in 21 months. The tallies were issued a day after Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said suicide attacks and other bombings in Baghdad also declined.

That's always the catch phrase with the left in here.....must be watching FOX. LMAO....even the dems in the debates are stating that the surge has had a VERY positive effect and that violence is down!
Provinces handed over to Iraq forces:
"Within the next 3-4 months is a plausible timeframe for the turnover of Anbar province, but again only if conditions on the ground warrant turnover," Smith said in an e-mailed response to questions from Reuters.
US could hand over Iraq's Anbar in March-April | Reuters
This would make number 10 out of 18. A year ago when the dems were crying for us to run they stated that Al-Quada had total control of this province. How times a are changing.
Hillary and Obamas plan to allow a minimal force to be left to take care of 100,000 coallition civillian workers and Iraqi's that helped up out is a joke!
If you want to see more of the past with our soldiers being kidnapped and beheaded....vote for the Dems in "08". If you want to see the entire middle east turn into a battle ground and the price of gas go to $15/gal. or higher, vote for Ron Paul.

This war is pointless and always has been from the get go. How can anyone who supports this war have any confidence that we will be able to destroy an idea? It's absurd to think we can win this war and destroy an idea that has been in that land for a very long time. The longer we are there the more incentive it gives for every man, child, and woman to pick up a weapon and defend there families. We have destroyed Iraq all over control. We were lied to from the beginning and what makes all of you supporters think we are not being lied to today? We need to get out and get out now. It was a horrible idea to go in and it's even more dangerous to stay.

So let's just keep sending more young men and women of this country to get killed? Because we were led into a war by lies and deception? Sure, let's go another four years, then they might just settle this thousand year holy war! I think not, there's no definition of winning, it's much too broad, to not leave until things are 'settled' means to stay there forever, and I don't think we have the money or lives for that? Oh wait, a draft...Ahh, yes, we can get all the troops we need into Iraq. Fuck that. Our troops need to be defending our country, not the fucking middle east or the rest of the world.

i know this may be a far out scenario to many but it is a possibility. and its one that i dont much enjoy the thought of.
i was against this war from the get go. i still am against this war. i want our kids home and safe. i have been protesting the invasion fom the day i heard about it. i knew then it was wrong. but now that we are in this we must leave knowing that iraq is stable. there will never be peace over there but lets just make it so that they can defend themselves. saddam hussein as a brutal dictator but at lest they were not vulnerable with him in charge.
i also totaly agree with you that our troops need to defend us and not everyone else in the world.

Destroy the idea..no; let them set up training camps to work out of...again no! IF we leave Iraq in a mess that'll be exactly the case and we'll be back there in a matter of years because of an attack on us. Dangerous to stay....a hell of alot more dangerous for us to leave.
