In response to the water comment- DO NOT SOAK YOUR WOODEN PIPE IN HOT WATER!
My pipe swelled and the hinge got messed so bad i couldnt open it back up for days.
I would recommend using a wet paperclip and twisting it around like friendoftheend said.
This is the safest method in terms of keeping your pipe clean .ipe:

If you have access to a air compressor you could blow it out. Have you tried pipe cleaners?

find a drill bit to match the hole of your pipe and use that....it will clean it out perfect every time..

Unfortunately, the way the pipe is designed, I am unable to manually scrape anything but the bowl, which hasn't yielded any results yet.

I was thinking isopropyl and salt, but since my bowl has colored wood, would that damage the coloring? Could I simply put the mixture into the bowl portion withough resorting to soaking the entire piece?

Here's a diagram of my piece:
I guess you have never heard of "pipe cleaners"....those furry wire things that are made for that exact purpose.

Use a small drill bit to clear it, then clean it.
