    Wooden bowl dilemma

I've got a lovely piece I got about a year ago- it's wooden, and it's got a hinge piece on the top of the bowl, which is great to pack, cover, and take on the go. It's been used quite frequently, and it's now gotten much harder to hit because it's so clogged. Unfortunately, the way the pipe is designed, I am unable to manually scrape anything but the bowl, which hasn't yielded any results yet.

I was thinking isopropyl and salt, but since my bowl has colored wood, would that damage the coloring? Could I simply put the mixture into the bowl portion withough resorting to soaking the entire piece?

Here's a diagram of my piece:

The hole for the bowl is small, and it would require a good amount of twisting and contortion to fit anything in the down pipe; the mouthpiece is 1mm tall and 2mm wide...

I would just let the concoction sit inside the bowlhead while holding it very still. eventually it will work its way through, and when it does pour more in until it comes out again.

I've been doing that very thing, and it actually seems to be clearing it out pretty well. Unfortunately, it's taking the wooden stain finish off as well. I figure if it gets too bad, I can re-stain it the original green colors, or just make a completely new design

    Wooden bowls are not recommended.
Many types of wood release toxic material when heated, and the wood can burn, making lung damage a possibility.
Get yourself a nice glass piece, and stay healthy!

I've got 4 glass pieces- this one's used only for hiking trips, that is, if I don't have a suitable container to hold my bud in

Maybe if you threw it in some boiling water is would help loosen up the resin so you could clean it easier..

I have the same exact type of bowl. Mine is red and blue, maybe i will put up some pics. Anyway, to stay on topic, i just use a paper clip, un rolled and jam it through till i see it come into the bowl. THen twirl it around, and pull it out and you should be all set.
