Major freak out in the UK

Hi first post on here. Loving the site by the way and hoping to start my first grow soon :weedpoke: Oh and this happened in Britain. But anyways this is what happened. One of the biggest suppliers, to the headshop that I work in, sent us a fax this morning. It was warning us that a grow shop down south had been raided. Basically undercover police went into the shop and asked for a hydro setup and then asked which seeds was best for it. The shop assistant pointed them towards some seeds, which they bought and walked out the shop. Now the 2 shopkeepers are being jailed and the shop assistant has a suspended sentence. THIS IS REDICULOUS!!!!! The laws here have let us sell grow setups for growing veg,flowers etc and cannabis seeds as souveniers (Even though they are from Serious, Flying Dutchmen etc). We can also sell NEXT TO THEM books like the homegrowers manual to help them along their way.

This is why they got charged.

Apparently the shop assistant was in the wrong because the police said they were wanting to grow weed with it all; Surely this is a farce because if a member of the public bought the same stuff without mentioning growing it then nothing would be illegal!!

Whats your opinion?

Sorry in advance if you found this irrelevant because it's different laws than in the US.

Actually, the law is the same in the US. You cannot mention cannabis in a grow shop. They will ask you to leave, because of exactly this same law.

But this kind of thing has never happened in the UK from what I can remember and every grow shop I have ever been to, never hide what they are about
