Grav Bongs = Bad?

I've come to the conclusion that gravs are shitty. Sure, they get you super blazed but seriously...

First of all, gravs take away from the days of social smoking. Up here at college gravs are probably the most popular way of smoking. I know I'd much rather pass around a bowl, bong, joint, blunt or anything else because you get to have the good conversation around the bud. Whereas with a grav, people sit around, wait their turn, get an ungodly amount of smoke, and then are too retarded to talk. This is the worst thing about them.

Second, I think they are just too much for the body/mind to handle. If you pay enough attention like I have, you'll notice people's speech, movement, and lots of other stuff gets messed up after a grav to the point where you look stupid as shit in public. In the long haul, they also dumb you down when you're not even high, make you a lot lazier, etc.... I also have a feeling they are horrible for your health and no one has looked into it yet. Gravs are still pretty much an underground thing (ever heard one in a song, seen one in a movie?) so they probably haven't been researched but all that smoke at once plus the possibility of fumes coming off the metal piece at the top can't be good. I'm really curious what people would find if they studied the effects of gravs on the body and mind.

Third, if you're someone trying to boost the rep of weed, gravs look terrible to someone who hasn't/doesn't smoke. Seriously, think of how ILLEGAL a grav looks, like some kind of crack pipe or something to the uninformed person. This brown bottle sitting in smelly water with a burnt metal socket sticking out of the top... a nice colorful piece or a joint looks much more respectable and inviting.

That said, if you're about to walk into a movie or something where no social skills are needed and you want to be high for hours, a grav or 5 is cool with me. Just not as a main way to smoke. Should be more of an accessory.

i dont know, vapes can be social if someone who owns one is showing it to someone who doesnt. A friend of mine has one, and we were going to smoke it cause he was wanting to show how it worked cause he didnt have any weed to smoke for a while, but then everyone just grew apart for the winter and stuff, but we were all going to smoke out of it, and shit, but it would have been social, but ive also been around when people were being social over a grav too, it just depends on who the people are, i mean if they talk to you while your setting it up for yourself to use then it is a social experience, but if they just stay quite then they are being anisocial at the time and it can lead you to think its not a social experience, but it is tougher in groups to use a grav, but it can be rewarding too i suppose.

Haha ya the pool is a great idea. A great idea that i cant take credit for i just remember reading it here a while back would be to get one of those huge water jugs and burn like a gram in it in a pool and then come from underneath it and just chill with your head inside the smoke filled chamber

They're not 'bad', they're strong and should not be underestimated.

I agree with you they're not the most social experiance, but cannabis doesn't necessarily have to be. Vapes are less social.

i was thinking about it and its the same principles as a lung really aint it, no oxygen just pure smoke i love my lung lol she gets ripped on a daily basis multiple times, unlike my girlfriend.

It's much more than a glorified water bong... The water in a water bong filters out the smoke and then you pull the slide to get a nice hit then some fresh air.

The water in a GB is simply there to force the smoke into your lungs. That's another thing, you don't even get any air with your smoke... it's just smoke, smoke, then a brick wall of water, then you blow out.
