Im ify on this and was wondering other opinons. I got a couple CFLs im using for veg, but this grow i think i sprouted more plants then the CFLs can handle so my question is instead of goin out to buy more CFLs and sockets, could i just use the HPS light for the rest of veg trhough flower?....i mean if the yeild difference isnt that much i was just gunna do that cuz im kinda broke......whaddaya think?

After seedlings are about 2 weeks old, you can use HPS for the rest of the veg cycle. Many growers only use HPS lights.

I used nothing but HPS light for the longest time, and suffered few ill effects from using it during veg. With a MH, or sufficient blue spectrum light from fluorescents, the branches won't stretch quite as much...giving you shorter, stockier plants. Especially if you're growing a plant that's predominantly indica. But you can easily train or top most varieties to keep the stature squat and manageable.

Well i plan on doin LST on these babies, and whats funny is my last grow, my plant that was next to a CFL opposed to the one next to it that wasnt [both were under the HPS tho] was branchy as hell as the one next to the CFL was one stem buds...lol might have been the strain but i thought it was funny....how bout ill use the HPS now since its been exactly 2 weeks, but ill leave the 2 CFLs in there [lower] so it gets bit of a bluer spectrum as well....would that be my best bet prob?

It'll help to keep some of the stretch under control. Just make sure you keep your temps in a good range, and the plants should love the extra light.

So heres a cell phone picture of my 2nd setup [cant find my digital cam right now], you can see my {hopefully} 8 girls growing, about 16days since they were planted. The 2 CFLs, and the HPS lamp is above the picture [cut out becuz it was causing the picture to get those crazy lines in it as you can see] One Fan up top blowing in and down on plants behind HPS lamp, and theres another fan blowing out at the bottom where that cardboard is....:rastasmoke:

Hey sunny. Looks like a good start. What wattage HPS do you have and what strain are you growing?

I use a 400 HPS for veg and flowering. I use the 600 HPS when they are almost ready to switch to 12/12. Your gonna be fine! Pump up the volume (lumens)!
