Jay-Z's "Retirement"

Listening to some music while smoking a blunt I was listening to the Black Album and I was thinking about how Jay-Z is one of my favorite rappers of all time. No matter your feelings on him you can't deny what he did for the game, picking up the crown when BIG died, and a huge contributor for what hip hop is today. Not to mention a business mogul worth over a half a billion dollars. Anyway enough dick riding on my part, what I was trying to figure out was, Why did he come back and do kingdom come? When the black album dropped so many people agreed it was definitely a great way to go out. Coming in with Reasonable Doubt and leaving with Black Album.....beautiful right? But he came back and although the album was okay...it wasn't very great. (I'm disregarding American Gangster right now because that's a different story). But then I heard him say

"As fate would have it, Jay's status appears
to be at an all-time high, perfect time to say goodbye
When I come back like Jordan, wearin the 4-5
It ain't to play games witchu
It's to aim at you, probably maim you
If I owe you I'm blowin you to smithereeens"

And it made sense to me that alot people called BS on that retirement shit but seeing that made me think like he might of known that he couldn't step away from the game. And that if he did come back he was gonna come back hard. And although Kingdom come wasn't the greatest....American Gangster is a new classic.

Sorry......I'm high as shit, maybe no one cares lol.

Yeah Jay-Z is one of my favourite rappers too and i think kingdom com was alright too and reasonable doubt, the black album and the blue print have to be my favourite albums by him. Also he left big clues on The black album that he would come back to the rap game.
