    Exodus chapter 30 verse 22 - 33:

Moreover the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying: "Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet KINEBOISIN two hundred and fifty shekels.

And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of olive oil an hin

And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary; it shall be an holy anointing oil

And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony.

Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you

Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people

KINEBOISIN, according to the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, is the old name for cannabis - it was also spelt kannabosm. They claim it was mis-translated in the King James' version of the bible, as "calamus"

A Shekel is approx 8.5 grams

    Just something to ponder.

    Cheers

    NCM

250 shekels x 8.5g/shekel = 2125g! That's over two kilos! Over 5 pounds! No wonder Moses wandered the desert for 40 years --- he was probably stoned out of his mind!

    Go down Moses!
    Way down in Egypt land!
    Let my people
    Let my people
    Let my people grow!

The Rastafarian Church may perhaps have it's roots in the very first Christian church in Africa.

Christians believe God created everything on Earth (yes, you may have to remind her cannabis is a plant) and on the seventh day, looking at his creations, he said everything was good.

It is not what goes into a man that defiles him, but that what comes out of him

Sow every herb bearing seed onto the Earth

    Look up the THC Ministry...

Bob Marley was very religious.... and so is the guy who owns my local headshop

Christians may say that God may perhaps not like smoke inhilation as it defiles the temple of our body, but we all need to eat more vegetables anyway

By any chance was Moses listening to the "burning bush" when he heard the Lord tell him to get five pounds of weed?

    Yes, yes he was.

Buddah, you could own this argument with your friend. Some day ask her to tell you the story of the flood.

She will tell you how God saw that his creation was not going as planned and destroyed everything on Earth except for what he deemed good: Noah and Noah's family and all the animals.

God then flooded and destroyed everything on Earth, and only Noah's family and the life they had brought on their ship remained to repopulate the Earth.

The easiest way to kill a plant is to drown it.

    Cannabis grows wildly on Earth.

Obviously Noah had some green on the Ark. :rastasmoke:

lets be honest though, while most of what the government throws at us is a bunch of rhetorical bullshit, some of it is true, smoking produces carcinogens, and eating can be rather intense, and there are saftey risks while being high, though they are not as beefed up as they want you to think.explain that.

then explain to them that they are your friend and that if something like that is going to come between that, then they are less of a friend to you than you are to them, and ask how it hurts them that you do it. If they say that stuff like they dont like to see you "harm yourself" in that manner, give them something along the lines of that the religion they practice creates a barrier from having an understanding with them in the friendship and that you feel that their strong attachment to something that hold dear is hurting you because it is affecting your friendship.

that should really enlighten them as to how you feel and also inform them that smoking isnt as bad as they really think. And as a thought, just dont bring the subject up around them if at all possible.

A reasonable person would be fine with this.
