If your options are 5 or 9 days, go with the 9.

A nutrient change or a flush? To change, you just empty all of the old nutrient solution and make up a new, fresh solution to replace it.

You can/should flush your system periodically while growing to keep your media from becoming concentrated with fertilizer salts. You should also flush for about the last week of flowering to remove all nutrients from the media. This allows the plant to begin breaking itself down for nutrients before it is harvested, aiding in curing the produce for better smoke and taste.

using organic nutes, is flushing still needed as often? i think im going to flush every 3rd nute change, so go two full nute schedules, flush, then 3rd nute set..also, is it good to flush a week before oging in to flower to rid of the veg dose and give it a flowering dose? or just slowly switch?

I've never known anyone using organic nutrients, so I can't offer experience. My guess, on the other hand, is that the schedule would be about the same. How often you need to flush is really determined by your setup. In the DWC that I'm familiar with, there is no need to flush because only the roots contact the nutrient solution, so there's no media in which excess salts can deposit. Rockwool retains a lot of salt and would need to be flushed more frequently.
