Nah this record is pretty different than the previous few records, they contuniue to re-analyze thier sound with every album... that said, it still has their signature sound. It's got a somewhat more live and human feel to it than the cold metaloid sounds of untitled or draft 7.3... but it also contains elements of the more minimalist and ambient sounds of thier early works like the amber-tri repetae era. There are also more distorted vocal samples in this album than any release by them I've heard before, it's an interesting dynamic shift for them. As unintelligible as it may be to figure out what the samples actually might be saying, they chop them in with thier other abstract sounds until it becomes another element of the rhythm of the track, it also fills in a sonic space that was left alone in a lot of their other works. On a whole, it's another new shift for Autechre that's a challenging but enjoyable listen
