ok i hope i dont sound like an idiot here... but the hairs die off?
heat has never been an issue, i had a serious ph problem that is allset now. also, how strong of magnification do i need to get a good view of the trichs and how much do you think something sufficient would cost? again thanks for any replys

30x mag should suffice- not sure of cost though. My scope came from a dumpster, lol. Check out educational stores, or even the educational/science sections of toy stores.
The hairs turn brown when they 'die', which is either when the calyx has been pollinated and is growing a seed, or when the calyx is too old to still be pollinated.

ok is there a redish amber and a brown... or is it that if they are not white they are dead/dying

Hairs do not always start out white- lol just to add even MORE confusion! They can be pink, ivory, or even scarlet. IT is when they change from their original color and start to shrivel and shrink that you know they are dead.
But when it is time to harvest, always go by the color of the crystals, not the hairs.

now im guessing that the color of the hairs depends on the strain. that being said any one know any strains that produce pink hairs that sounds hot.
