Go to a country like France. Imagine paying a 19.6% sales tax. On top of a grossly disproportional income tax, which the rich is heavily taxed. You'll be glad to live with the taxes America has. I suggest you travel a bit before claiming high taxation is the biggest danger in America. This high taxation is at least rewarded with some of the best government services on the land: adequate public transportation, health care for citizens, etc..

The US government is highly mismanaged, and prone to waste, fraud and abuse. The solution isn't to cut or raise taxes. It's to learn to manage assets more efficiently. It's time to privitize sections of the government, allowing more private enterprise to compete to provide government services to it's citizens. But let's not kid ourselves, we should not pay less taxes because the government isn't producing results. The government simply has to become more accountable.
I personally have no problem with America, and was not claiming that taxes were terrible, just giving Blue a reality check, since she is under the impression that taxes on the "middle class" are such a burden? Please! Hey Blue, yet another example of you regurgitating popular news media myths!!! Every time you post you help me prove my point. Keep on though, blame America, blame Bush!!!! You are right on thcbongman!!!

Yeah, I was simply pointing out that it seems pretty unreasonable to ask the top 50% of income earners to pay more, how much should they pay, 99.9%? Who is that money used for? I am just guessing here, but I am betting that the bottom 50% that pay a whapping 3% of all the income taxes probably benifit a whole hell of lot more from the top 50% income taxes than the people that actually pay them. Can we say "redistributing wealth". And of course, my point to blue was when is enough enough? Will you only be happy when the top 50% pay 99.9%? When will people start taking some personal responsibility for themselves? YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!! AMERICA DOES NOT OWE YOU ANYTHING!!!!! YOU ARE FREE TO LEAVE ANYTIME IF YOU THINK THAT IT IS SO BAD HERE!!!
