Yeah, by the way, tickets to the Super Bowl starting at $2000 and on up, hotel rooms for thousands, I personally am better off financially than I ever have been, and so are most of the people that I know. On average, people in America that are considered under the poverty line have 2 televisions in the home, cable, internet, and 2 vehicles. So I guess perspective would be important to have too in this conversation.
People from other countries say Americans assume too much of how things are in other countries. I contend that it happens no matter where one lives. I know I'm damn glad my grandfathers came to the USA from Sweden and The Netherlands. Their descendants live in the greatest country in the world, bar none. Not that other places aren't great places to live. I've visited some pretty nice places in Europe. No other country has made as much progress in as short a time period as the USA has done.
