Yeah, there are a lot of dumb Americans but there are dumb people everywhere. And just like everywhere else, there are some smart people here. I like to think I'm one of them, but not without the proof to back it up -- I got 1390 on my SATs, maintain a 3.9 GPA at university, know more about geography than anyone I know (I'm a bit of a geography nerd actually), can speak 5 languages conversationally and am learning 3 others. I know how to spell properly, am well-versed in English grammar and do keep myself updated on what's going on internationally and have a good grasp of world history. Again, there are a lot of ignorant people in this nation (this brings to mind a particular instance in which I was wearing one of those warm fuzzy Russian hats one snowy day and someone shouted at me "NAZI!"), but it's no less stereotypical or correct to say Americans are ignorant as it is to say that Mexicans are lazy or Jews are greedy.

Canadians know a lot about the USA. Americans seem to know little about Canada. Living in Victoria BC, a tourist town, I know how Americans see Canada. Cold, snow, eskimo's, igloos, better pack a fur coat when we hit the 51st.
What Americans need to know is that we grow the best bud on the continent and we ship huge quantities of it to the states to try to curb your aggressive tendencies.
Take a look at a satellite image of the border, on one side is a densely packed ghetto of gun totin' religious fanatics, on the other is wide open spaces full of clean air, water and a population who's minds are full of progressive ideas.
Send us your draft dodgers, your gays, your potheads, but keep your greedy little hands off our tar sands.
Missle defense is an ATF induced hallucination.
We're giving away free heroin in Vic which is no suprise since we can smoke pot openly in the streets here.
