My hands. I like my nails to look good. I don't often wear nail polish other than clear sealer, but I like them to be all the exact same length, and filed off clean and square. I have a working person's hands, big and strong, but well-proportioned. I look at hands on other people so I take care of my own. You can tell a lot about a person by looking at their hands, and when I look at mine, I think of the skills that I have- my hands have built violins, dissected fish, chopped firewood, cleared brush, cooked feasts, repaired analytical equipment, kneaded bread, worked on vehicles, planted gardens, shaped pottery, written poetry, sorted bycatch on fishing boats, rolled hundreds of burritos, played fiddle, the list goes on... and they will do much more before I'm through... vanity or a sense of pride that I have earned... maybe a little of both.
