IMO, that point is 225 Watts.
If you are using more than 225 watts of CFL, you might as well be using a 250 Watt HPS. Your plants will be happier, it will generate more light, about the same heat, and use about the same electricity.

Is it possible to actually make a whole grow with CFLs? or will the end result either come out as small yeild or schwaggy or middy bud? i dont grow but was just wondering since someone was saying how weed can grow under every day common CFL bulbs.. but I personally dont buy it, but then again I dont know much about it.. but would assume it would only be sufficient enough for the plants early growth stages.
