Are torch lighters good or bad for smoking?
Just wondering, getting one for my lighting my hookah coals. Do you think it would be good or bad for smoking...mostly out of a bong.
Thanks,

I use torches to take bong hits,But I only do that when its windy(since I am always smoking outside) I heard it is too hot.But Since I smoke outside sometimes I cant keep a regular lighyter lit.So I use a torch for those occassions.

Depends on what and how you use it. If you use a metal pipe I say no. But if you use glass or better stone, and you use your torch precisely, sure it could have its advantages over regular flame. The regular flame dances with wind and is harder to control. If you burn your bowls like you eat a pie, Then the precision of the torch could make breezes and the such moot.

I keep one in my fishing tackle box for outdoor use- gotta be able to light a spliff in any weather!
And indeed I burn bowls like I eat a pie, zcomp... it's nice for saving a bit of green hit for the fella next to you.

I've always been under the impression that it makes no real difference unless the wind is a big factor, however, it spews out much more butane which I think makes it taste worse and is worse for you. I don't know if that's true, just what I've always thought.

To me it's a matter of pride. I will usually let my guest take the first hit, but if they insist that I do the honors, I'd like to -as a matter of pride- let them get a good taste of the fresh flavah before the top is all scorched... then, ROAST AWAY!

If by "burn your bowls like you eat a pie" you mean do I bury my whole face in the bowl and gobble it up until it is all gone, then yes, I do burn my bowls like I eat a pie.

it just depends on how they are used. if you use your tourch like you use a reg. lighter, and just scorch the weed and destroy the THC. but if you take your time, no problem, other then blowing the ash out.
