to answer your questions:

1) it will grow as big or small as you let it. if its watered properly, given minimal amounts of fertilizers, and given full days of direct sun, itll grow to be a massive, hearty beast. however, you can use training/pruning to keep this to whatever hieght you desire. (outdoors expect 3-7 feet with minimal care and training)

2)if you harvest 1-2 weeks early, your buds wont be as potent. if you harvest 3-6 weeks early, you may have trouble just getting a buzz.
Ummm, hows he gonna let it get big or small? U want him to go outside and cover it with a tarp when its sunny??? Is that how he keeps it manageable?? I dont grow ouside, but im sorry i dont think he can manage the size of a plant as easily as u presume, when mama sunshine is beeting down on little baby MJ plant. :fish:
