Well... i wouldnt say the dark brownish color i got is the "right" color... im sure it depends on the weed... the weed i use is always very decarboxilated (even a bit toasted) and maybe thats why i get a very dark tinge on it... maybe non-decarboxilated weed produces a lighter color. But surely your green dragon is still too clear.
Anyway, after heating it for this 1.5-2 hours all the "extractable" THC will be extracted, and the green dragon will be as dark as it could be.
PS. A thing a forgot to comment in the last post. Nice Dark Side's poster in the background!

I think it will be fine after the water bath, probably a bit darker and a bit more opaque. I decarboxylize my bud first, and it gets a bit toasted and dried. I think that actually destroys or changes some of the chlorophyl, so less of it goes into the liquid, and it ends up with more of a yellowish-green undertone, sort of chartreuse.
One thing I forgot to mention in the instructions was that I use a fine-mesh strainer with a metal screen to strain the bud material out of the extracted GD. I don't know if that will work as well with the keif you have in there. I've never used a coffee filter because I worry that maybe some very fine particles of good stuff might not be fully dissolved and might be in suspension and might get filtered out. I'd rather have it a little cloudy than a little weaker. I'd suggest using the strainer and then seeing if that was acceptable or not.
I was wondering what you are thinking of for dosing. I made my last batch with 4 grams of good bud, and 1/24th of that makes for a pretty good time. (I diluted mine into a 24-ounce bottle of liqueur, and I take 1-ounce shots.) You've got 1/8th of mids and .5g of keif, so that is about 4 grams total if it was a full 3.5 gram eighth. But it's hard to compare the quality of the starting material without seeing them both. Also, I kind of tend to be on the lightweight end of the scale, so my 1-ounce shot might not be strong enough for what you are looking for. Anyway, you need a way to measure out your amounts so that you get enough, but you don't get twice what you want (or 4x or 8x!). Master Wu ends up with very concentrated tinctures, and he uses an eye-dropper to measure. I'm not sure how Coelho does it. (Coelho?) I would say that in the best case, you might have 24 "servings" like I got. In the worst case it will be maybe a dozen, but probably not less. You'll need a way to measure out somewhere between 1/24th and 1/12th of what you make. Or a way to dilute it to a measureable quantity.More of the same: Renger\'s Rantings

Mine will probably be boiled down to 1 oz of liquid, and then taken with a measured eyedropper- 2ccs at first, then move on if it feels appropriate.

Okay, I put the mixture in a water bath for 1.4 hours, adding more Everclear as it dissolved away. I'm going to continue this weekend because my parents walked in, smelled it, and wanted me to make them some 'chicken rub marinade' because it smelled so good

Here it is filtered (I have the solids still)

Good work Purplebanana... now it looks much more green dragon-like... you could drink it right now if you wished. If you were not do so, store the bottle in a dark (as dark as possible) and cold place, as light destroys the THC, and heat increases its oxidation by air.
And please tell us when you drink it!

Nice job Purple Banana, and thanks for posting up pictures, they really help to give an idea of what to look for when making this stuff.

Quick question though, I was considering reducing down the 'Everclear' by standing a Cafetiere on a 'hot-plate'. They have built in filter screens so should allow the weed to remain in contact with the liquid but making it slightly easier to strain.
What do you guys think, anyone used a similar system?

it looks like it would atleast work in the sense that it would be easier to strain the product, though it should not be completely substituted, as the screen isnt very fine and some particles could get through making for a salad like drink.
