You will be fine in that space with a procyon and very small 13w or less cool cfl (for increasing the 400-450nm blue color) and possibly a 10w halogen to finish off the full spectrum (660-720 far red and infrared for the emerson effect). Try a sog or a micro sog and cover your floor with small short bud stalks using tall skinny pots similar to DRBudgreenGenes setup, you can near 1gr per watt in good soil if done correctly. Heat will be minimal but some ventilation is needed, you can use a fan with a lux outlet thermostat to kick the fan on only when needed. For personal you cannot beat it per watt.

dgsg...definitely go with the procyon!
Thanks frosted! I am lucky enough to have a few cuts of SFV OG Kush coming my way, so I feel they are something worthy of a new LED experiment.
I am gonna start with the Procyons, have been able to accrue a lil funding for a self designed board...just may not be getting it for a few months. So this will be the first run of a pure indica under the procyons till the board gets here.
If any of you from the first few runs were watching, one thing we learned for sure, is that sativa dom plants are no good for LEDs...YET. So running Jack Herer was not the best idea, and I am sure the yield will be MUCH better with the kush that is Almost pure indica.
Stay tuned!

Hey all. New here. I'm in the midst of my first indoor grow (been doing the guerrila thing for over a decade). Probably going to get the Procyon myself to use in a 3x3 closet. I've got 8 each of Purps and BlueCityDiesel at about 5 weeks now to be put oudoors. But before then I will take cuttings and save one of each for Mother plants to be held in a growbox and will flower the clones in the 3x3.
So, I hope to keep this journal up and post pics etc. Anyway I'm psyched for the LED thing and definately see myself throwing in some cfls for flowering. Any tips on the addition of cfls? Any tips on LED growing in general? Last question I promise....I can only vent the closet into the attic which obviously gets hot on its own. So can this extra heat have any adverse effects on the house/attic itself?
Thanks. HOpe to see yall around.karmathiskarmathat

It's a drop in the bucket.
But, as long as you are cutting holes, why not instal a solar powered attic fan? It's chimp easy!
You can amortize the cost from air conditioner savings.
Hope you plan to use an odor sock.
Venting into an attic can stink up da whole house.
And go easy on the nutes n water.
Led growing is kinda "laid-back"
Slow, and gentle with a very "happy ending"
For CFL's? They are not your main source of light when you are using leds, so, a little dab'l do ya.
1. 23W. 2700K. per bloomer is probably too much.
In veg.? I don't bother. I'm very pleased with leds for vegging.
And, don't have final results yet, but I am testing a little "nightcap" of 730nm, ar red.
I'll keep everybody posted.
Regards,
Weezard.

Can we get a summary of your personal findings? Pretty much what I am hearing is that 1 Procyon 100 works fine for about a 2 feet by 3 feet area, or 6 plants. What I am concerned about is the quality of the weed. You said that you boosted your CO2 levels. How high was your PPM? What type of CO2 generator did you use? And how would you rank the density of the buds and the yield per plant? Is thier anything that you would change about your project in retrospect?
Anyway, add me to the people who joined because of this thread. I am about to put together a 3 foot by six foot growing space with all the bells and whistles to do a little sea of green farming and could not decide if I wanted to go with traditional HPS (about 250 dollars for 2x 400 wat HPS) or three Procyon 100's (about 500-600 dollars each). Unfortunately I think that pure economics will force me to use the HPS, but as soon as they come out with LED technology that can match the QUALITY of the final buds, I will be switching for sure.
Cheers,
The Whiskey Fish

Nice job we are also LED pioneers and use welthink wex c150 with 40% 660nm 40%630nm 20% 460nm
They are 150w each and use the 3w LED instead of 1w

I just purchased LED's and my first attempt to grow with them will begin soon. I have 2 solid blue, 2 blue & red mixed, and 2 solid red panels. I'll post as the growth progresses.
By the way I have a few babys just out of the seeds that are about two inches tall. One is a total albino. I have never seen this before and I'm very curious to see if it lives or dies. I'll try to post a pic soon.

Lock your camera focus on something white at the same distance you want to shoot the plant(s). Then view the plant (s) at the same distance and shoot the shot. Your camera should have locked the f.stop & color sat so as to give you a balanced pic.
