    anxiety/sleep disorder???

Try a nice indica and see how it goes. The worst outcome is that it doesn't work for you- the best is you get a good night's sleep for a change! Get a copy of your medical records to make things easier when your make your appointment to get "legal".

Cannabis can be recommended for any condition that "substantially limits the ability of the person to conduct one or more major life activities as defined in the American's with Disabilities Act" and "If not alleviated, may cause serious harm to the patient's safety or physical or mental health."

Lack of sleep can cause you to behave like you are drunk. Sleep deprived, you be a danger to yourself and others on the road or at work. I think that chronic insomnia would qualify for a recommendation with most cannabis specialists. NORML has a nice list of them. If cannabis helps you sleep- go for it! - Granny:hippy:

    anxiety/sleep disorder???

Avoid the sativas, they can be bad for anxiety. I have some sleep problems, never been diagnosed with anything I just seem to be too energetic at night and don't go to bed when I should. I'm not sure if this can be diagnosed as anything, but no matter how heavy the indica is nothing seems to work for me.

One thing I do want to mention is that if you go medical, it is important to find a good co-op that really understands and knows their product. Many are run by shady people that don't have a clue if their bud is a true sativa or indica, and if you have anxiety this can be incredibly important so you might have to try a few places before you find a co-op that actually knows what they are offering.

    anxiety/sleep disorder???

i just recently had to quit this past week after probably atleast a year straight with no breaks on a daily base... i cant sleep for shit these days, i lay down and my mind races even when im tired as fuck... the only reason im stayin clean is because im trying to find some new work and no matter legal or not if you test positive they will look at as the same as a tweaker or waht not... i used to get anxiety attacks when i started smokin hard, but as the time went on it just became somethin that relaxed me and helped me stay stress free through out the day, it definately allowed me to sleep comfortably at night as well. recently since ive quit i havent been sleepin well at all probably 2-3 hours a night this past week, and when im awake im cranky as fuck and just in a shitty mood... i kno what my remedy is, but untill i can get settled in with a decent job ima have to stay clean unfortunately... definately look into gettin legal and find some of those danky danks that will just ease your pains and allow you to get that sleep you need!!!

He has a copy, so just ask for a copy. They are YOUR records. And even if they date back to when you were a minor, you are an adult now- you don't need Mom's permission! My doctor took about 2 weeks to get mine to me, but they arrived in the mail. Go to it, child!- Granny

Last summer I began to suffer from serious Anxiety, starting right around Memorial Day weekend. I woke up one morning and noticed I was having trouble breathing, it wasn't as easy as it should be. So naturally I became worried, the problem was, I had to wait till the following Tuesday because there were no doctors open on Memorial Day obviously. So that Tuesday morning I went to a local cheap health service in town. They conducted several tests, including breath/lung capacity, X-rays of my lungs, and certain exercises, but nothing was found to be wrong with me.

I was informed that Anxiety can interfere with your steady breathing because when you're feeling anxious, your heart rate is elevated to a level you're not used to, think 'fight or flight' type situation. So they prescribed me some anti-anxiety medication. I took the dose, it was very small, as those drugs are easily addictive.

The reason I had to go to the cheap health service in town was because we had just got a new family doctor and I hadn't seen him yet so when I called to make an appointment, they wouldn't schedule me one because I hadn't had a chance to complete a physical and all that. Well I told my father and he called the family doctor up and completely bitched the office out.

So I went to this cheap health service, came out with a prescription for anti-anxiety meds. Later that afternoon I was able to see my family doctor. After the doctor conducted the usual tests, including the same ones I had done that morniing, he concluded that there was a chance I had a Pulmonary Embolism. So, because it was cheaper, I went to the E.R. to get the tests done. After waiting 45 minutes in the E.R. waiting room, I was admitted to a room, where a nurse proceeded to poke me a total of 4 times with a needle because he could not find my veins. After 3 and a half hours of waiting in this room with 4 needle holes in my arms, the Doctor returned with no problems wrong with me physically.

Basically, I saw 3 different doctors and all 3 told me it was Anxiety that was causing my breathing problems. Ever since that event, I hadn't been able to smoke pot, and enjoy the high. My heart rate elevates, I feel like my throat swells up and I feel anxious, whereas before, none of that happened. I still get high here and there, but I NEVER get stoned because it's just way too uncomfortable for me. I haven't taken a bong rip since May of 07'.

Long story, I know. Anyways, the anxiety has slowly subsided, it's still there, just not as severe. I workout a lot which tends to help suppress it. Anyways, that's my whole story.

    anxiety/sleep disorder???

Hey guys, Long time anxiety and sleep deprivation guy here. Just remember your mind is very powerful. Alot of times there are unresolved emotions fueling your anxiety. Deal with emotions, esp. anger! Don't let yourself get carried away. Stick with indicas and demand organics, heavy fertilizers can have bad reactions in some people. Exercise will help, even if you feel like you can't even walk briskly because you're so tired. Also meditation will work and when you are having anxiety attacks you will be better able to cope.
