I have lucid dreams and always in the same circumstances. Sometimes, I wake up in the morning when my alarm goes off but I think I'll have another 10 minutes. When I drift off into a light sleep (and am sub-consciously aware that I need to wake up) I can have the most incredible dreams.

There is still the random environment that your mind creates but you seem to know that you are in control of any possibilities that can happen. You can re-live the same moment, like flying over your town and keep on feeling the adrenaline rush as you do it.

The only downer really is that when you do wake-up, it is so so sooooooooo disappointing. You sometimes be in limbo, fighting to stay asleep because you know that when you wake you can never get it back. I've had seemingly very long lucid dreams in the space of drifting off for 5 mins before my second alarm bell rings.

Have any of you ever had sleep paralasys where you wake up mentally but your body is still asleep and you can't move. I scared the living shit out of my girlfriend with it.

I get it very occasionally but once, my girlfriend had got up and had switched on the small light above our bed. She said I made a noise and when she looked at me my eyes were wide open. I remember it perfectly because I was aware of everything I was seeing. I tried to move my arms to get up but my brain could not comminicate with them. I remember my girfriends horrified face. I got my left arm to move off the bed but it was so heavy and was moving in slow motion. I could feel myself straining really hard and she said I was making a horrible gutteral sort of noise. She said my eyes were full of panic and she started crying. It's very strange and the first time it happens to you it is terrifying.

I thought it was something wrong with me. I even considered that I was bieng messed around with by aliens, lol. Seriously. It's quite common though as it turns out and nothing to worry about.
