    Help with manicuring

i'm not sure exactly how to mainicure. i understand you should cut larger fan leaves before hanging up to dry but don't really know what to manicure or when to do it (before or after the drying). how much is too much to leave on? and when is it easier to manicure smaller leaves. thanks in advance for any help. also pictures would be great :rastasmoke:

    Help with manicuring

i always pic the big fan leaves off first, but i have always had an easier time when i let the plant dry first before i manicure the buds. if you were making hash i have found to be a little better yeild when using fresh manicured buds.

on manicuring the bud its up to you how much leaf material you want, i usually use little sergical ss scissors but it takes way longer and hands start to cramp real bad after 3-4 hrs of trimming. im goin to start shaving the outsides of the buds to manicure cause itll be alot easier on my hands. lol

    Help with manicuring

    quick summary of drying/manicure/cure procedure:

    1) chop plants and hang them upside down
    2) cut off all fan leaves and store for later purposes
3)let plants dry until stems are breakable (4-9 days)

4)take a branch to be manicured and some small sharp scissors
    5) slowly turn the bud, holding by stem as not to destroy trichromes, while methodically clipping any extended leaf bits and twigs (this should be quick and simple)
    6) look at manicured buds. remove leaf bits that dodged the scissors, and otherwise prune to a further level of perfection if it suits you. (save all trimmings, but seperate from fan leaves)

    7) leave buds in paper bags if still moist, otherwise put into glass jar
    8) vent jar multiple times daily for at least a week.

biggest tip though: keep rotating and snipping the leaves on first pass. its quick and effective
