what do people think of the kirby vacuum?

Central Vac = A vacuum system that's built into the house. In general, every room has an outlet and you just plug your vacuum hose into the wall socket.

Central Vac has been out for 15-20 years ... nothing new, but I do know that it use to be pricey to install. Not sure about now.

Yep, you got it! When our new house was built in 2002, it was installed, and I am SO happy not to drag a vacuum around everywhere- instead, it's a pretty long hose, but it's very lightweight.
